About our Club 3.0


Who Can Join?

  • All 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are eligible regardless of previous Coding Club participation. YES we are accepting 1st graders for the 2017-2018 school year.
  • No coding experience is necessary. 
  • You must have a desire to learn more about programming, a willingness to participate in group projects, and want to get more “play-time” on a computer.
  • Due to the structure of our lessons you must be able to commit to arriving at school on time at 8:00 am.
  • You must commit to attending every meeting except in the event of an unforeseen school excused absence.

Meeting Times and Dates

Tracks 2 & 3 will meet September 13 – October 18
Tracks 1 & 4 will meet January 24 – February 28 


Registration Dates

Track 2  Registration July 31 - August 18
Track 3  Registration August 21 - September 5
Track 1 and 4 Registration October 23 – November 9 

How to Apply

All 1st grade students must submit an APPLICATION, all 2nd-5th grade students must submit an APPLICATION and an ESSAY no later than end of school on the following dates:

          Track 2 must submit forms no later than August 18, 2017.
          Track 3 must submit forms no later than September 5, 2017.
          Tracks 1 and 4 must submit forms no later than November 9, 2017.

The topic for the student written essay is:  "If I learn to code, I would write an app that would....and why".  Selection criteria for club membership will be based on the essay, member diversity, and lottery if needed.

Important Information if You Are Selected

We are collecting annual dues for course licensing fees and coding toys.

Scholarships may be awarded on a case-by-case basis.

Annual Dues of $15 will be due at your Track's first meeting ONLY if you are accepted.  Checks should be made payable to Brassfield PTA.  

You will be notified via e‐mail if you have been selected no later than TBD.

If you are selected the following forms must be signed and returned no later than your track's first meeting: Student Contract, Parent Contract, and Consent for Use of Technology.
