Just wanted all of you to know what is going on with Coding Club.

A few weeks ago the PTA agreed to let Code Ladder take over the Brassfield Coding Club. After they did some research, it was determined that WCPSS would not allow us to run the club without renting the space from the county. This is very expensive and would not allow us to offer classes at reasonable prices.

Because I am working full time with Code Ladder, I am not able to commit the hours on a personal basis to run the club.  Therefore I will be stepping down. If you love the Coding Club and think it is worth continuing please reach out to the PTA.

I offered to run this first coding club session independently of Code Ladder, but PTA has decided to cancel the Tracks 2 & 3 sessions coming in September, in order to regroup and see if they can keep it running. If you have submitted an application, I apologize.  Again if you would like to see the Coding Club continue, please contact the PTA!

The last four years running the Coding Club have been incredibly rewarding, it was amazing to see your children learn and grow when they thought they were just playing a video game.  They are the reason I decided to start Code Ladder

On a brighter side, we had our Workshop today! Kids had a blast making Flappy Bird games, programming Ozobots, experimenting with circuits, making music and more!  I hope your children continue to explore technology on their own, if you ever need any resources, I am more than happy to help you find games, apps, and programs that will provide both fun and educational experiences.

If you have any questions, please email me at brassfieldcodingclub@gmail.com.

Best,
Sara Teristi
