Calling All Track 1 & 4 Students in 1st - 5th grade!!!
Registration opens Monday October 23rd
BCC 3.0 is all new with new lesson plans, new programs, new toys, and even more fun than ever before!
This year we will be using CS First, Code Monkey and Game Builder to complete projects and design games while learning core computer science concepts. Classes will be divided into 3 groups, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced based on grade level and experience. Classes are taught by Brassfield's own Software Developer parents. Their love for the field has brought them together to create a fun, positive, and encouraging environment for students to explore STEM concepts and to create a lifelong love of learning in students.
All 1st - 5th grade students are invited to apply. We are hoping to admit all students who apply but depending on the numbers there is no guarantee that we will be able to admit everyone. So please complete your applications, have fun with your essays, and submit everything on time!
In addition to our 6 week session we will be hosting BCC Workshops though out the year. We are planning on purchasing programming toys for students to explore these include Piper Kits, Microduino, Spheros, Dash and Dot, and hopefully more in the future.
The cost is $15 (that's only $2.50 a class!) this will pay for licensing fees and educational toys. These things are expensive and we receive zero outside funding for our materials and programs, so if you are able to (and would like to help) consider adding an extra $5 to the club fee to help pay for programs and toys. Or if you are interested in purchasing educational toys for us, please contact Sara Teristi at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for encouraging STEM learning in your students. We hope you will join us this year for a ton of computing fun!
Who Can Join:
Any 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student regardless of prior club participation or experience.

We had a great first day at Coding Club 2.0! Students learned about algorithms and wrote their first programs. An email just went out with instructions for Edmodo, homework, logging onto your code.org account, and much more. Please read it, sign up for Edmodo, check the compatibility list, and email me if you have any questions. We are looking forward to a great 6 weeks of learning and fun, hope you are too!
Just a reminder that Coding Club starts for Tracks 2 & 3 tomorrow morning in the Media Center. Please be on time as we start instruction promptly at 8 am. You may enter the school through the cafeteria doors. Can't wait to see all of you tomorrow!
Only 1 more week left, time really flies when you are having fun! This week our 4th and 5th graders learned binary, ask to see their bracelets, while our 2nd and 3rd graders learned about loops and iterations. We are still looking for those stand out students who have worked hard all session, turned in their homework, and really excelled to win our grand prize next week. Go to Edmodo and take a look at this week's homework, post your art on Edmodo to win a trip to the prize box and stay in the running for our grand prize! Shout out to Abbots Creek Elementary School, they are about to start their first coding club next month. We are so excited for you, can't wait to see what you do!
