***********************   FREE Coding Classes   ***********************

Can't get enough of coding?  Didn't get into the club this time and are looking for stuff to do on your own?

Check out Tech Talent South.  They offer a free 5 week course four times a year at their Raleigh location. The next class starts January 26th.

The course is for students ages 8 to 12 and covers the basics of HTML, CSS, and the programming language Ruby. Classes are usually Mondays or Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:30 and don't cost a thing!

I am trying to get them to push their start time back to give us enough time to get there. Contact Jackie Johnson at jackie@techtalentsouth.com for more information and be sure to let her know you would appreciate a later start time.

The last time I checked, their WEBSITE was not updated with the January registration, so be sure to check frequently or contact Jackie directly.

I will keep looking for more free classes, stay tuned!

Kids, looking for something fun and exciting to do over Winter Break?

Parents, tired of spending money this time of year?

I have just the thing...design and program your own computer game with Kodu!

Kodu lets kids create games on the PC and Xbox via a simple visual programming language. Kodu can be used to teach creativity, problem solving, storytelling, as well as programming. Anyone can use Kodu to make a game, young children as well as adults with no design or programming skills. Kodu for the PC is available to download for FREE. Kodu for the Xbox is also available in the USA on the Xbox Marketplace, in the Indie Games channel for about $5.

Have you tried it?  Share a comment and let us know what you did!

All acceptance emails have been sent.

There was a huge amount of interest in our first Coding Club, over 80 families applied.  If you have not received an invitation by now, you were not admitted this session.  But don't despair, if all goes well we will be back for the 2016-2017 school year.  In the meantime, check out our More Games page and try some coding on your own!  Keep following our Blog for updates, activities, and events.
